What is a holistic approach to sleep?
Holistic sleep coaching differs substantially from traditional sleep coaching. If you are considering working with a holistic sleep coach, it is important to understand the term in context.
By definition, the word “holistic” means considering something in the whole (or looking at the bigger picture). In the context of sleep, say you are looking to address your child’s frequent night wakings. Traditional sleep training techniques may focus solely on dealing with those wakings in the moment, as they happen. In contrast, holistic sleep practitioners will also consider other aspects of your child’s day-to-day life which may impact their sleep. This may prompt small, easily implemented tweaks to your daily routine which lead to quick wins for your child’s sleep.
